So my Steampunk themed 21st birthday party has a set date. it will be held on April 11, 2009 at 2 pm until dusk at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura, Ca. i will be serving food and drinks, but if you intend to come, please come RSVP so i know how much to buy. and bring a camera, it is a cute park with a children's train themed park, and lots of trees and hiking trails and wilderness to play in. That is all the basic information that i can think of for right now, if you want to know more just ask in the comments or on my personal LJ. thank you.

OH, also it will be mostly me and my friends, so it's not so much a meet up as a personal party, but i am always happy to meet new people so i am extending this invitation to anyone interested in Steampunk and wanting to have a good time.

Hi all,

I live here in Los Angeles. My friend is in a MFA program at Chapman and it turns out that one of his professors there is Tim Powers (yes *that* Time Powers). It rekindled my love of all things steampunk. I am putting together my new apartment entirely based on that aesthetic.

I would love to meet more people in the area with an interest in steampunk, especially those inclined to try their hand at home made clothing/furniture/accessories.

Everyone knows that the Edison is a great venue, but most people that go there for the atmosphere want that part of their lives to end there. The ongoing pursuit of a steampunk aesthetic seems lost in the flurry of day to day life.

Any suggestions?

Hey everyone!

The Edison has posted tickets and pricing for the New Year's Event with Abney Park & Lucent Dosier.

Just wanted to keep everyone updated! :)

Hello, my name is Jem and i have a few questions. i live in Ventura county and a few friends and myself are attempting to plan a steampunk meet-up/tea party in Ventura within the next few months. is there anyone on here who would be interested in attending? i hope this is alright to post. i am really looking for tips and ideas if i was going to attempt to host this. it would be a "bring your own tea cup" sort of event, and probably a potluck. (i am a very poor college student.)

anyway, just wondering if anyone was interested, and i figured this community was the best place to start.

Don't forget today (Sunday, May 25) is our Steamparty meeting at The Edison in downtown L.A.

The Abney Park concert starts at 9pm, but I suggest being there early. I believe tickets are only $20 if you buy them online.

Hope to see you there!

Ps--JUST SO no one is confused, this is NOT an all-ages show. The Edison is a BAR so people: if you're under 21 you're not getting in.

May meeting is set Sunday, May 25th at The Edison in downtown Los Angeles. Abney Park concert.

The invitation is open to anyone interested, so feel free to bring a friend (or two or three) along. Costumes are optional, but there is a dress code at The Edison. (You'll get easier entry if you dress appropriately. Don't get caught outside.)

Prices at The Edison vary: check the website for more food and drink options. Currently there is little or no information to the cost of the Abney Park concert, but usually tickets at The Edison range from $10-$20.
