Hello, my name is Jem and i have a few questions. i live in Ventura county and a few friends and myself are attempting to plan a steampunk meet-up/tea party in Ventura within the next few months. is there anyone on here who would be interested in attending? i hope this is alright to post. i am really looking for tips and ideas if i was going to attempt to host this. it would be a "bring your own tea cup" sort of event, and probably a potluck. (i am a very poor college student.)

anyway, just wondering if anyone was interested, and i figured this community was the best place to start.

Steamparty has been dead for the past few months due to a lack of help on my end. :P I wasn't expecting to plan every event, so this is helpful!

Usually we host events at a location that you can BUY tea/foods from. So I've never thought to host a "potluck" type tea. Where would you hold this event? If you have the space for it, I recommend something outdoors, especially if someone willing has a nice backyard.

Then ask everyone to bring a teacup and a few (or more) bags of their favorite tea. Or enough loose-leaf for several people. :D That's as far as I can think in advance right now.

Good luck, keep me in the loop please!

well we have a really nice park here with hiking trails and a kids park with a fake "train station" theme that i thought would be good for pictures and stuff. it has picnic tables and barbecues for heating water and such, and a big hill for ice blocking down if anyone wants to try it, lol.

http://www.ventura.com/activities/parks/arroyoverde/ that's the site of the park.

i would like to get at least a small get together by December, but with school and clubs and my lack of a job right now, i will see how much i can pull together by then. shouldn't be TOO hard to organize this, right? maybe i am just overreacting thinking it will be stressful.

Steampunk Party
I might? I live in L.A.. what were you thinking? My friend and I are more Neo-Victorian, but we love steampunk, too. Where were you thinking of holding it? Evening party, or a meet and greet over tea and cookies? Just a meal, or some kind of an event?
