Introduction
Hi all,

I live here in Los Angeles. My friend is in a MFA program at Chapman and it turns out that one of his professors there is Tim Powers (yes *that* Time Powers). It rekindled my love of all things steampunk. I am putting together my new apartment entirely based on that aesthetic.

I would love to meet more people in the area with an interest in steampunk, especially those inclined to try their hand at home made clothing/furniture/accessories.

Everyone knows that the Edison is a great venue, but most people that go there for the atmosphere want that part of their lives to end there. The ongoing pursuit of a steampunk aesthetic seems lost in the flurry of day to day life.

Any suggestions?

OMG yes. Tim Powers is such a kind man. I went to OCHSA, you see, so he was one of my teachers, too. I never had him for a class, however (he taught all the seniors)--I had Mr Blaylock. I'm hoping to have him when I get to Chapman.
